Right of Withdrawal for Consumers

A consumer is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly neither commercial nor attributable to their self-employed professional activity.

Right of Withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without providing any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day you or a third party named by you, who is not the carrier, take possession of the first goods.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Scientology Kirche Hamburg e.V., Domstrasse 9, 20095 Hamburg, Germany, Tel.: +49 40 3560070, Email: hamburg@scientology.net) of your decision to withdraw from the contract through an unequivocal statement (e.g., a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the attached withdrawal form, but it is not mandatory.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your notice of exercising the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Consequences of Withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we will refund all payments received from you, including delivery costs (except for additional costs resulting from your choice of a delivery method other than the least expensive standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and in any event no later than fourteen days from the day on which we are informed of your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will use the same payment method that you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise with you; in any case, you will not incur any fees as a result of this refund. We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or you have provided proof that you have sent back the goods, whichever is earlier.

You must return the goods promptly and in any event no later than fourteen days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send the goods before the period of fourteen days has expired.

You will bear the direct costs of returning the goods.

You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods if this loss in value is due to handling of the goods that is not necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning.

Exclusions and Expiry Reasons

The right of withdrawal does not apply to contracts

– for the delivery of goods that are not pre-manufactured and for the manufacture of which an individual choice or determination by the consumer is essential, or which are clearly tailored to the personal needs of the consumer;

– for the delivery of goods that may spoil quickly or whose expiration date would be quickly exceeded;

– for the delivery of alcoholic beverages whose price was agreed upon at the conclusion of the contract, but which can only be delivered 30 days after the conclusion of the contract and whose current value depends on market fluctuations that the entrepreneur cannot influence;

– for the delivery of newspapers, magazines, or illustrated papers, except for subscription contracts.

The right of withdrawal expires prematurely in the case of contracts

– for the delivery of sealed goods that are not suitable for return for reasons of health protection or hygiene if their seal was removed after delivery;

– for the delivery of goods that, by their nature, are inseparably mixed with other goods after delivery;

– for the delivery of audio or video recordings or computer software in a sealed package if the seal was removed after delivery.
